Finder Volume 3 One Wing in the View Finder Yaoi Ayano Yamane 9781569701881 Books Reviews

  • I fell in love with the Finder series in book one. Asami and Takaba are interesting, multifacted characters, the sex is hot, and with the yakuza angle, there's always a story to go with the romance. The first two books really stood alone. In this book, Yamane goes to a new level and introduces a gripping story arc that will span multiple book and force the evolution of their relationship. The Arc of Truth.

The story opens when Fei Long kidnaps some of Takaba's friends to force him to hand over the data disk from book 2. Takaba goes to Asami for help and is rebuffed. What follows is one of the hottest sex scene between the two in any of the books! With Asami drugging Takaba afterwards to keep him (safe) from finding Fei Long. Only, Takaba is stubborn and goes after his friends. There's a lot of non-bedroom action, in addition to continuing sexual tension, including a shoot-out with serious consequences. In short, I was riveted right up to the cliffhanger ending. This book also includes a bonus Finder short story and second unrelated short story. The Finder story was hilarious and very enjoyable when Takaba gets drunk and starts crank calling Asami, with predictable results. The other story concerns two salesmen who get try out the products in a sexy way.

This book was previously published by Be Beautiful before it went out of business. This new edition has a far superior translation that helps the story flow more naturally. The dialog is sharp, and modernized. As per usual, Yamane's artwork is stellar and my personal standard for yaoi. Warning this installment includes an outright rape scene that could disturb some readers. Overall, a fantastic book in a great series! Highly recommended!
  • As with all the volumes in Ayano Yamane's yaoi Finder series, I can never get enough of Asami. He's the quintessential seme gorgeous, powerful, and has a weakness for the young photo-journalist. Ayano Yamane is a personal favourite when it comes to yaoi; her art is superb, her stories in-depth, and characters eye-catching. Love it!
  • Anything by Yamane Ayano is godlike... paper or kindle... but for me I have to say i like the feeling of something tangeable in my hands... and having her book makes owning bl that much more fun....June did a great job with the paper and binding... some things seemed different from translations I've read before, but none the less it's on paper and in english... halefuknluya!!!! Will be pre-ordering this till I've got em all!!!
  • Seriously, this is probably my favorite BL series! There is actual character development in both leading men and its still super sexy and sweet! A recommendation to all yaoi lovers!
  • A good series with great visuals.
  • Its a very entertaining volume.I like how the story is getting abit complicated.I need not say more.

I like the other story of the dads when they were young.
  • I love this story
  • Well, it's good to finally see the reprint of volume 3, but one thing I am concerned about is the new translations. I have the old Be Beautiful edition of this book and I was comparing its translation with June's edition and there are some small, but significant differences. Like with the love scene where Akihito goes to see Asami in the hotel to ask for the data, in the Be Beautiful edition, Akihito is saying things like "Yes!" and "More!" and makes it sound like he is enjoying it. But in the new June edition, he does not say those words at all. Instead, he says "No" and "No more", which makes it sound like he's rather unwilling. These may seem like small things to nit pick about, but it's significant to me because I want to have the most accurate translation and in the Be Beautiful edition, I got more of a sense that Akihito was enjoying things, whereas in the June edition, I did not get that sense at all. It actually made the scene seem kind of quick and dull. I don't know which translater was right and which was wrong, but it would seem that the translators for these Publishing compaines could have made more effort to get more accuracy. Other than that, the only other thing I noticed was that the printed pages in the June edition seemed a little darker than the pages in the Be Beautiful edition.
