"Kids, summer, and lemonade stands go together. Sometimes just lemonade is offered, but for a really exceptional stand, baked goods are a great idea. To give kids a head start in planning their stand, this book gives step by step directions for setting up the stand and kid-friendly recipes for baked goods, ice tea, and unusual lemonades.
The book is full of colorful photos of kids setting up their stand and best of all of the luscious goodies made from the simple recipes. I tried several recipes. I like simple ones as much as the kids do. I can recommend the blueberry muffins, cheese crunchies, and the cranberry lemonade is outstanding.
The book also gives directions for crafts to enhance the food, like making fancy straws for the lemonade and ice tea. It’s a great project for kids even if they don’t follow through with a lemonade stand.
I highly recommend this book. It’s a good way for parents and children to have a project together. The kids can learn to cook simple treats and best of all, you have delicious goodies not only to sell but for the whole family.
I received this book from PR by the Book for this review."

The Lemonade Stand Cookbook StepbyStep Recipes and Crafts for Kids to Makeand Sell! Kathy Strahs 9780996911221 Books Reviews
- My daughter adores this book and has been having fun this summer creating recipes to sell in her own lemonade stand. Fabulous book to get kids working and earning!
- This is a fun cookbook for children - beautiful photography
- We are big Kathy Strahs fans around here. We loved her 8x8 cookbook and were so excited to get this one and so we supported her kickstarter right away. My kids love this book- the cinnamon swirl banana bread and blueberry lemon muffins are our newest favorites but we have a lot more to try. But I think the best part of this book is that it gives kids concrete ideas for not only how to make a lemonade stand, but also how a lemonade stand is empowering and community building. And then there's the crafts- my daughter was so excited when she saw those. This book has heart and plenty of it. It's the kind of book you'll buy for yourself and then want to give as a gift, so go ahead and make your life easier and buy two now!
- Summer fun and kids go hand-in-hand, right? Ice cream man, sandy feet, the perpetual smell of chlorine and sun screen...how about the quintessential lemonade stand?! That's just what this book, THE LEMONADE STAND COOKBOOK is about.
Kathy Strahs is a mom and former marketer with an MBA from Stanford. She's also darn good at coming up with kid-friendly recipes your little ones (and neighbors) will love to snack on. Seriously, my mouth is watering just thinking about her juicy blueberry muffins with a hint of lemon zest. And then there's her cranberry lemonade, smoothies galore, bars, treats, and oh-so much yummy-ness. It's more than 'just lemonade.'
Got a crafty kid on your hands? How about a friendship bracelet stand, felt flower pencils? Bundle them with your food/drink item for an added pizzazz and bolster the price slightly. A two-for-one...you get the idea.
THE LEMONADE STAND COOKBOOK is colorful, chock-full of images, and easy-to-follow for kids and adults. An ambitious and older elementary student could easily follow along on her own. It's perfect for busy parents who want to serve simple--yet impressive--drinks and snacks at a playdate or birthday party. Really, the possibilities are endless. And...it makes a GREAT GIFT for summer kid parties, events.
Plus, the book features real-life kids, their stories about being an entrepreneur, and more. - Kids, summer, and lemonade stands go together. I received this book from PR by the Book for this review. - OMG, you guys!! This book is so much fun. From instructions on how to set up your stand to how to advertise, this book has it all. The recipes are written out and include pictures so the kids can follow along. There are different flavors of lemonade and ice teas, as well as fruit infused water, smoothies, almost anything you can drink. There are even recipes for cookies and brownies. My grandkids liked the crafts as well. I can see hours worth of things to keep them interested. I actually won a copy of this book, but will be buying books to give as gifts to my friends with kids. Even if they don't make a lemonade stand, the recipes are so worth it. I highly recommend this book.
- Â Look at this darling book! The Lemonade Stand Cookbook by Kathy Strahs has every detail you need for a successful lemonade stand for your kids. It's so much more than a cookbook. Lemonade stands can be for charity, personal use, or just as a way to relieve the summer boredom. What a great way to show kids how to make money and be responsible while getting the parents involved alongside them. This even has pricing suggestions for the drinks and snacks.Â
Inside you'll find recipes for not only regular lemonade but a bunch of other fun drinks as well. You'll even learn how to make fancy straws for your drinks. If it's cold and your kids want to set up they'll find a yummy hot cocoa recipe. This book really does have it all.Â
Brownies, mini muffins, banana bread, and even instructions on how to zest a lime for a special drink. This is good for kids of any skill level (though some may need adult supervision). This is available from Burnt Cheese Press. - I bought this through the kickstarter and I am so pleased with the finished product! The recipes are kid-friendly while also things I really enjoy making and eating. The photography and design is bright and beautiful, and there are a ton of clever ideas for crafts and decor to go along with the lemonade stand theme. It's also been valuable for my son that we can easily make foods that usually come out of a box - the cheddar "chompers" are a delicious and junk-free version of Cheez-it crackers. Brownies are just as easy from scratch - and granola bars too! Lemonade need not come out of a plastic bottle. (I wouldn't go so far as to say that most the recipes are healthy, but it's important to me to get rid a lot of the added junk in our food, so I can feel great about these treats.) It's a great lesson for my son and it's wonderful to get him interested in cooking. A great kid for elementary-aged kids (and their parents). I can't recommend this book enough.
